BANGKOK IMPLANT / READ & UNDERSTAND
Compare the treatment burden, not only the headline price
The most appropriate replacement depends on the remaining teeth, bone, cleaning ability, time, risk and preferences.

An implant does not require preparation of adjacent teeth, but it involves surgery and long-term maintenance. A bridge may be efficient when neighbouring teeth already need crowns. A removable denture may replace several teeth without implant surgery but can feel less stable. Ask whether retaining the natural tooth remains a reasonable option first.
Questions for each option
- What healthy tissue must be altered?
- How many visits and healing stages are expected?
- What can fail biologically or mechanically?
- How will I clean beneath or around it?
- Who can repair it after I leave Thailand?
Cross-border repairability
A familiar implant system and documented components can make later servicing easier. Bridges and dentures also need design records and may require laboratory work. Ask your dentist at home whether they can maintain the proposed option before committing abroad.
Use a written decision table
Compare total cost, time without a final tooth, need for grafting, effect on adjacent teeth, expected maintenance and contingency costs. Do not treat a warranty term as a prediction that complications will not occur.
Cross-border care checklist
- Confirm the treating dentist's identity, role and Thai licence through an authoritative source.
- Obtain a written itemised plan, alternatives, material choices, risks and cancellation terms.
- Keep flights flexible until the in-person examination confirms the plan.
- Arrange a named pathway for follow-up and urgent assessment after returning home.
- Take implant labels, radiographs, operative notes, prescriptions and invoices with you.
